ABOUT THE COMPANY
Automotive Components Limited is primarily engaged in manufacturing and distributing automotive, commercial and marine lead-acid batteries, as well as in the provision of a comprehensive range of related products and services through four strategically located auto care centers in Trinidad & Tobago.
The Company also produces BANDAG retread tires and is the sole distributor for GOODYEAR Tires, PENZOIL lubricants, Hunter alignment equipment, RAVGLIOLI auto-service equipment and SAFE CNG refueling equipment. Additionally, ACL has successfully entered the natural gas market, installing the AUTOGAS Natural Gas System for vehicles, which has proved to be the market leader.
ACL is a member of the Neal & Massy Group of Companies, one of the leading business groups in the Caribbean. It is a market driven company that has systematically established market leadership in all its business operations.
The Company’s product quality is well known throughout CARICOM and more recently in Venezuela and Europe where they were contracted to supply under a private label agreement. In the Caribbean region, ACL is the largest producer of automotive batteries, supplying over sixty percent of this market. The Company possesses a network of twenty-six distributors in fifteen Caribbean countries.
All of the Company’s exports are marketed by organizations that are reputable and which are exemplars in their own right, a deliberate policy of balancing rapid growth with long term relationships as a pinnacle criterion. In recognition of the Company’s many achievements, the United Nations Development Organization (UNIDO) awarded the Most Innovative Company-Large Enterprise within Trinidad & Tobago to Automotive Components Limited for 1995.
In December 1994, after several years of quality system development, Automotive Components became registered under the ISO 9002 quality standard. The Company continues to develop new markets and integrate existing ones into their total quality approach, and actively seeks new joint venture arrangements with companies of substance that are market driven and future focused.
